What will not be changing?

All the benefits you have earned, up to the point when any changes are introduced, are fully protected. So all the pension you have already earned will be paid in full if you retire at your current normal pension age.
You will not lose any of the pension you have already earned.
When you come to retire your pension for the time you are in the scheme up until the point it changes will be worked out in exactly the same way as it is worked out now.
If you are already in a final salary scheme the pension you have earned up to the day of the changes will continue to be based on your salary at the time you leave the pension scheme or retire.
If you were 10 years or less from your Normal Pension Age on 1 April 2012, you will not see any change to when you can retire or the amount you will receive at that time.
