The Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Mark Hoban, today presented to the House of Commons the Main Supply Estimates for 2010-11. The Main Supply Estimates seek parliamentary authority for departmental spending plans for the current financial year.
The Main Supply Estimates 2010-11 seek parliamentary authority for voted supply provision of £ 494.7 billion of net resources and a net cash requirement of £ 464.5 billion, which is lower than originally planned due to the £6.2 billion reductions announced on 24 May. The amounts sought are consistent with the spending plans published in the associated Supplementary Budgetary Information (SBI) booklet, which is published alongside the Main Supply Estimates today.
The SBI booklet provides a read-across between expenditure plans in the Main Supply Estimates and the budgetary information, by which departments are controlled by the Treasury.
