Special arrangements for the release on 22 April 2009
The Pre-release Access to Official Statistics Order 2008 allows for extending and lengthening pre-release access under exceptional circumstances. The National Statistician has agreed that, although the order does not specifically cover the Treasury's Budget forecast, she is content to allow wider and earlier access to the data for a limited number of officials in order that the data can be incorporated into the Budget forecast and accompanying material in an orderly fashion.
As a result a group of officials, listed below, have been granted exceptional pre-release access for some 5 days from the point on Friday 17 April 2009 when near final data were first available. In addition a wider group of officials will have the standard 24 hour access in order to ensure that the data are accurately incorporated into the published Budget documents and into the Chancellor’s Budget speech.
