Any internal documents held by the Treasury relating to:

the decisions made in 1975 to intervene in the affairs of the Slater Walker Bank and/or its parent company Slater Walker Securities;
-
subsequent decisions relating to those companies and their directors covering the years 1975 to date;
-
financial assistance given to Slater Walker and/or Slater Walker Securities;
-
the decision to reorganise the board of Slater Walker Securities and to recover the public funds made available to Slater Walker and its parent company;
-
communication between the Treasury and the Bank of England, the Department of Trade, the Attorney General’s office, the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the Cabinet Office relating to Slater Walker and/or Slater Walker Securities and/or any of its subsidiaries and/or directors for the period 1975 to date.

Information released relates to the period 1975 to1977. The information is clustered around three periods:

October 1975 - when the Bank of England assisted Slater Walker;

September and October 1976 - when Slater Walker’s accounts were published;
-
Mid-1977 - when the Bank of England decided to acquire the banking arm of Slater Walker.
Additional information on Slater Walker Securities’ Directors Reports and Accounts for 1975 is not contained in this release as it is available from Companies House.
