Request for the latest high-level departmental plan for the Treasury on the department’s preparations for the Euro.

Text for disclosure:

The report describes the Treasury’s contingency planning for internal euro conversion.  The planning has been carried out within the framework of the Government’s policy of ‘prepare and decide’, designed to ensure that the UK has a genuine option to join EMU if, on the basis of a clear and unambiguous case following assessment of the five economic tests, that is what Government, Parliament and the people, in a referendum decide.
