The Excel spreadsheet attached provides a break down by department of estimated payments under PFI contracts. The figures presented reflect the number of projects and services delivered to the taxpayer and, unlike conventional procurement, also budget for the future maintenance costs of PFI projects. It should be noted that procuring authorities only pay when they receive the high quality services specified in PFI contracts. If such services are not received then deductions can be made from anticipated payments.
This is based on information that is collected biannually from departments. This breakdown is for our most recent figures. More recent information may be available from individual government departments.
