Graduates

HM Treasury provides employment opportunities for graduates of any discipline. Graduates typically join via one of three schemes, all of which are open to new graduates, or those with prior work experience:

• HM Treasury Policy Adviser scheme
  This scheme is open to graduates of any discipline with a 2:2 degree or higher.
• Civil Service Graduate Fast Stream
  The Civil Service Graduate Fast Stream is an accelerated training and development graduate programme for people who have the potential to become the future leaders of the Civil Service. It is ranked among the top five Times “Top 100 Graduate Employers”. The Fast Stream is open to graduates of any discipline with a 2:2 degree or higher, and successful candidates could be placed in any Government department.
• Economists Fast Stream
  As a Fast Stream Economist, you’ll provide expert advice to Ministers and senior officials on a wide range of important economic issues, such as macroeconomic modelling, competition policy, international financial issues, labour market trends, taxation, housing benefit, public health and criminal justice. You'll need a 2:1 degree or postgraduate degree in economics, and could be placed in any Government department.
